Welcome to my world.
I draw (Drawings by Maria Cristina) because my head is brimming with pictures. I draw without the discipline of a trained artist but with all the spontaneity of child with a new box of crayons. My artwork is like me: informal, observant, reflective, eclectic, and amused. I prefer not to draw scenery but am sometimes inspired by it, especially in the Southwest. I am intrigued by a Mexican holiday that optimistically views death as a continuance of life. Being human means being awkward, hence my frogs, and yet religious faith compels me to the more serious task of researching and drawing Saints. Please check my New Works page for my most recent imaginings!
At the same time, I love to accept commission work for a variety of personal and professional requests. In 2008, I completed illustrations for a children's book written by a local author, and created a logo for the "Hi Society Pygmy Goat Club". I'll be glad to provide references.
If you e-mail me and don't hear from me within 24 hours, chances are that a Gremlin ate your e-mail. I ask that you e-mail me again, this time directly and not through the link. Also, I would LOVE to combine shipping upon your e-mailed request.
